Synopsis

Ethiopia today. The migration of a farming community hit by drought is interrupted when the body of the patriarch of an important family disappears from his grave. His son, Tessema, begins to doubt the church’s official version, which presents it as a divine sign. So he embarks on his own investigation.

Biography

Beza Hailu Lemma is an Ethiopian filmmaker based in Addis Ababa. In 2022 his documentary Katanga Nation (2022) was presented at Visions Du Réel, and at IDFA before being bought by Arte. In 2024, his first fiction short film Alazar was selected for La Semaine de la critique. He’s currently writing his first feature film, The Last Tears of The Deceased.
