Synopsis

Early morning in a Montreal breakfast restaurant, filter coffee, bacon, French toast, stories of awakening, shared solitudes.

Biography

Born in Grenoble in 1988, Jean-Baptiste moved to Marseille in 2011 to study documentary filmmaking at Aix-Marseille University. His first films, 15 Ans (2013, Aix-Marseille Université) and La Vie adulte (2016, Prima Luce), tell the story of pivotal moments in the lives of teenagers as they make their first choices. His next film, Plonger encore (2019, Prima Luce), follows in the same footsteps, with amateur divers dealing with bereavement. In 2022 in Montreal, he took part in the exploratory cycle of the Main Film artists’ centre and made La Journée qui s’en vient est flambant neuve in super 8 film (2025, 529 Dragons). He also works regularly as a cinematographer on documentary films.
