Synopsis

After several years’ absence, Gibran, a 37-year-old Mexican-American, returns to Los Angeles with the goal of saving up to purchase land in Tecate, the village where he was born in Mexico. As he organizes his departure, he rediscovers the emotional and historical ties that bind him to the United States.

Biography

Anouk Moyaux is a visual artist who lives and works in Marseille. She holds a Master’s degree in Art, Science and Society from HEAR. In her work, she is interested in how the experimental and everyday experience is a tool to combat the oppressive systems of the modern Western world. She explores this vast subject through a documentary approach and artisan work ranging from performance to film. Since 2020, she has been part of l’Argent, a laboratory dedicated to photochemical cinema. It was in this context that she developed a passion for the 16mm medium, which she links to the magical essence of cinema.
