Synopsis
Beyond the glass, a night that never dawns. The automatic doors work just fine, yet for some reason, it isn’t possible to leave… Shunsuke awakes to find himself trapped. The building is familiar, as are certain of his fellow “prisoners” – members of his old university theatre club. Despite the irrationality of their plight, the group begins rehearsing a play…
Biography
Kei Shichiri made his feature film debut with My Easygoing Sister (2004), then Once Upon a Dream (2007). His collaborative documentary with architect Ryoji Suzuki, DUBHOUSE (2012), received international acclaim. Since then, he has collaborated with various artists on works ranging from experimental film to video performance, including the multi-part project Cinema from Sound (2014-2018) and A Woman Who Cleans Up (2019). Recently, he has directed a collaborative work with poet Gozo Yoshimasu and the promotional video for the Haruki Murakami Library at Waseda University. He is currently working on a feature film.
