Synopsis

Thirty-year-old Galib lives in a remote mountain village with his father Ibrahim — a war veteran who suffered a stroke from his battlefield wounds and now is on hisdeathbed. For years, Galib has cared for his father Ibrahim, who can no longer speak in full sentences and can only make short sounds. Unexpectedly, Galibreceives his draft notice: tomorrow he must leave for the war.

Biography

Emin Afandiyev, 1987, graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts in 2009. His debut short film “0:1…” was screened at Cottbus in Germany and received the “Director of the Year” award from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan in 2007. In 2026, he was awarded Best Director at the 24th Dhaka International Film Festival with his medium short film A Lonely Person’s Monologue.
