Synopsis
In a world at war, a love triangle involving three models under the sway of a domineering, creative fashion designer. Tableaux d’une explosion is a collision, a reinterpretation of the Petrushka myth set to Mussorgsky’s music: “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
Biography
Bertrand Mandico has developed a unique, dreamlike visual style that blends formal and non-naturalistic narrative elements. In 2017, he directed Les GarçonsSauvages, his first feature film, which won the Louis-Delluc Prize. This was followed by AfterBlue (Paradis Sale), which won the Grand Prize at the Sitges Film Festival and Fantastic Fest. In 2021, he conceived Conann: A Portrait of a Barbarian through the Ages. This multi-faceted film project will be the subject of a feature film presented at the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.
